Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a dedicated nurse unit support coordinator for an evening shift on a nursing or procedural unit. You will coordinate patient activities, support department operations, and help ensure efficient throughput.

Responsibilities include timekeeping, schedule entry, data collection, equipment and supply management, and charge reconciliation. You will also assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 16- and 17-year-old individuals may be considered with a valid work permit.
• 18-year-old individuals enrolled in high school do not need a diploma/work permit.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient activities to promote throughput on nursing/procedural units.
• Provide unit support including timekeeping, schedule entry, data collection, and charge reconciliation.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers to keep patient flow timely.
• Manage equipment and supplies; perform charge verification and reconciliation.
• Coordinate IT equipment (Vocera, iPad for MyChart Bedside, pagers) inventory and maintenance.
• Perform additional duties as requested by department leadership.

This role may perform department support duties such as timekeeping, schedule entry, data collection and charge reconciliation.Responsibilities And Duties:40 % - Service ExcellenceAnticipates needs of patient/family and internal customers, proactively addressing needs – including, but not limited to wheelchair discharges, rounding (i.e., environmental, nutrition, safety and service) and cleaning unit work areas.Assists public and professional staff as necessary including way finding.Relays information to unit associates as appropriate.Act as liaison between unit and ancillary departments.20% - Department Support DutiesProvides support for assigned unit - including but not limited to Kronos/timekeeping, point of care scanning, copying and entering schedules into electronic format, and tracking/entering data related to unit staffing.Orients new staff to unit workflow.Assigns staff to nurse call system.15% - ThroughputCommunicates with patient care staff and other units to keep patient flow moving in a timely and efficient manner.Assist nursing staff with admissions, discharges, and transfers.15% - Equipment/supply management and charge reconciliationProactively orders/maintains equipment and stock supplies.Coordinates identification, monitoring, and removal of all equipment alleviating potential clutter in clinical hallways.Track orders for telemetry and enters patient data in telemetry system.
