  • Experience with dementia population strongly preferred

Elderwood at Waverly is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager to lead one of our nursing units within our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. This is a hands‑on leadership role – ideal for a nurse who is confident in long‑term care, comfortable leading teams with varying levels of experience, and committed to building consistency, accountability, and quality on the unit.

Responsibilities

Unit Leadership & Team Oversight

  • Manage daily staffing, call‑ins, and scheduling needs
  • Participate in hiring, performance management, and staff development
  • Conduct daily rounds to ensure quality and environment standards are met

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – New York State
  • Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long‑Term Care setting
  • Prior leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, Supervisor) required
  • Strong ability to lead, coach, and hold staff accountable
  • Experience working with CNA teams and developing newer staff
  • Confidence in handling family communication, clinical oversight, and regulatory expectations
  • Experience with dementia population strongly preferred
