Job summary

Genesis HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Unit Manager/Director - RN in Alabama to support the Director of Nursing in delivering high-quality care, achieving positive clinical outcomes, and ensuring satisfaction among residents, families and staff.

Lead nursing unit operations, ensure care aligns with mission and regulations, and collaborate with staff and physicians to optimize outcomes. Manage HR, staffing, and disciplinary actions to maintain a excellent care environment.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct the overall operations, coordination and direction of nursing and patient/resident care for an assigned nursing unit.
• Ensure that patient/resident care delivery is consistent with the mission, vision, values and company policies in accordance with accepted standards of practice, state and federal regulations and licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with staff, physicians, rehabilitation therapy and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients on assigned nursing unit.
• Manage the human resources in assigned unit to include limiting use of overtime and agency personnel, recruiting and orientating staff, assessing the work performance of nursing staff, and implementing disciplinary action when necessary.
