Job summary

Genesis is seeking an experienced Unit Manager - RN at our Lexington, NC nursing center to lead a dedicated team and deliver high-quality, cost-effective care.

You will collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure staffing, oversee medication management, mentor staff, and participate with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient goals while complying with all regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing with 3 years of nursing experience.
• Nursing Diploma with 3 years of nursing experience.
• BSN with 2 years of nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of nurse leadership experience required.
• Current licensure by the State Board of Examiners of Nurses in the nursing center state.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the nursing unit to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care meeting clinical outcomes.
• Ensure care delivery aligns with mission, values, policies, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain adequate nursing coverage.
• Participate with interdisciplinary team to achieve patient goals and reduce rehospitalizations.
• Mentor and educate nurses, and act as a resource on service quality.

Responsibilities

• Join the nursing center management team as a Unit Manager - RN where you will be accountable on your assigned nursing unit for the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care while achieving positive clinical outcomes, patient/family and employee satisfaction.
• You will ensure that care delivery is consistent with the mission, vision, values and company policies in accordance with accepted standards of practice, state and federal regulations and licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain adequate nursing coverage to provide safe nursing care.
• Participate with the interdisciplinary team in developing, implementing and evaluating ways to achieve patient goals and minimize rehospitalizations.
• Mentor and educate nurses, working with physicians and other medical professionals, and serve as a resource to all staff within the nursing unit regarding the quality of services provided.
• Oversee medication management to ensure adequate supplies and that all medications are handled in accordance with company policy.
• Provide direct patient care along with the other unit nurses to maintain skills.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing, three (3) years of nursing experience.
• Nursing Diploma, three (3) years of nursing experience.
• BSN, two (2) years nursing experience.
• At least one year of nurse leadership experience is required.
• Must possess current licensure by the State Board of Examiners of Nurses in the nursing center state.
• Must maintain current BLS/CPR certification.
