Mount Auburn Hospital is seeking a Unit Coordinator/Patient Care Associate Level II to support a busy Level II Nursery. This role combines clerical duties with supply management and occasional hands-on newborn support under licensed staff supervision.

The position involves answering phones, welcoming visitors, managing unit supplies, and assisting with daily operations. Prior healthcare clerical experience and medical terminology knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous clerical experience (preferably in a healthcare setting). Medical terminology is preferred.
  • Ability to read and write at level 8, as documented on Invest, the hospital's Employee Learning Laboratory software.
  • An ability to set appropriate priorities and organize workflow.
  • An ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail during frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the unit telephone and route calls and messages appropriately.
  • Welcome parents and approved visitors and assist with access to the secured unit.
  • Communicate professionally with families, nurses, physicians, and hospital staff.
  • Order, receive, organize, and put away unit supplies.
  • Monitor inventory and notify the appropriate team member when supplies need to be reordered.
  • Restock formula, feeding products, diapers, linens, and other newborn-care items.
  • Maintain clean and organized supply, clerical, and patient-care areas.
  • Assist with unit paperwork and other clerical responsibilities.
  • Support nurses and other members of the care team with assigned unit tasks.
  • Occasionally assist with feeding newborns under the direction of licensed staff.
  • Follow hospital confidentiality, safety, infection-prevention, and unit-security procedures.
  • Cross-train and support other areas as needed

Fine motor control for limited periods to perform patient treatments.**Pay Range:**$20.00 - $26.92The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
