Job summary

Randolph Health in Asheboro, NC seeks an experienced nurse leader to supervise the Maternity Suites, coordinating patient care, staffing, and workflow in a high‑volume Labor & Delivery unit.

The role requires an active BSN, North Carolina nursing license, BCLS, and NRP certification, with three years in L&D and proven leadership skills. Obstetric/Neonatal certification is preferred to support a safe, compassionate patient experience.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Current North Carolina nursing license or temporary permit.
• BCLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required.
• Obstetric/Neonatal certification preferred.
• Minimum of three years of Labor & Delivery experience.
• Supervisory/leadership abilities and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Supervise RNs, LPNs, NAs, and unit secretary in Maternity Suites.
• Coordinate patient care and patient flow in Labor & Delivery.
• Ensure adherence to policies, standards of care, and state laws.
• Foster teamwork and maintain relationships with patients, families, physicians and staff.

Job description

Coordinates and supervises provision of patient care and patient flow in the Maternity Suites consistent with the philosophy policies, standards of care, and standards of practice of the organization, the nursing department, and the laws of the state. Supervises RN's, LPN's, NA's, Unit Secretary.

Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN required. Current or temporary license to practice in North Carolina. Current BCLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider required. Obstetric/Neonatal certification preferred. Complete knowledge of purpose and use of Maternity Suites equipment. Knowledge and application of professional nursing theory, practice, and procedures for labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. Effective communication skills. Leadership skills, including ability to organize and prioritize, use critical thinking skills, and problem solve.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, other health care personnel, visitors, and the public. Minimum of three years clinical experience in Labor & Delivery
