Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a Unit Coordinator to assist in planning, organizing, and evaluating nursing unit activities. You will perform clerical and receptionist duties and maintain the unit's physical environment, supporting a patient-centered care approach while coordinating with the Clinic Manager and other providers.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Experience with office equipment and computers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Completion of Nursing Services orientation and in-service requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing unit activities.
• Perform clerical duties and act as receptionist for the unit.
• Schedule appointments and tests, input orders into the computer system, obtain prior authorizations.
• Process orders to ancillary services (Dietary, Respiratory Care, Radiology, Laboratory, Social Services).
• Input data into the ordering system and maintain neat, orderly work areas.
• Participate in continuous performance improvement activities and assist with staff orientation and computer training.
