Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA, seeks a full-time Nurse Educator to coordinate orientation and ongoing staff development with a 50/50 split between education and direct patient care. This role collaborates with the clinical team to ensure competency and high-quality care.

Ideal candidates hold Iowa RN licensure, a BSN (or in progress within 5 years), and 3+ years of nursing experience; CCRN certification is preferred. Day shift with competitive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in Iowa; multi-state license if applicable.
• BSN required or completed within 5 years; CCRN certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates orientation activities with preceptor, clinical leader and director.
• Provides educational and clinical experiences to develop and maintain skills and competencies.
• Serves as a validator, super-user, and trainer for annual competencies, equipment, processes and standard work.
• Maintains accurate unit-based education records.
• Collaborates with director to develop and implement department education plans.
• Ensures educational outcomes of liaison meetings and nursing shared governance council meetings are completed.
