Job summary

DPR Construction in Virginia is seeking an experienced concrete finisher to apply finishing techniques to slabs and structural elements, including screeding, troweling, edging and curing, ensuring flatness and durable surfaces. You will work with the site crew to sequence pours, follow safety guidelines, inspect surfaces for defects, and maintain tools and work areas.

Requirements include a High School Diploma/GED and 2–4 years of concrete finishing experience; OSHA 10 preferred with completion

• Assists in preparing work areas, setting forms, and cleaning up after finishing operations.
• Collaborates with crew leads and foremen to sequence work and maintain schedule adherence.
• Maintains tools, materials, and equipment in clean, safe, and operational condition.

Executes standard and non-standard concrete finishing tasks such as screeding, floating, troweling, edging, and jointing independently. Collaborates with site leadership to sequence pours and maintains strict safety and quality standards.

Performs tasks including screeding, floating, troweling, edging, jointing, and texturing to achieve specified flatness, durability, and appearance. Follows established safety and quality guidelines during all phases of concrete finishing work. Inspects finished surfaces for defects, making necessary corrections to meet standards. Assists in preparing work areas, setting forms, and cleaning up after finishing operations. Works collaboratively with crew leads and foremen to sequence work and maintain schedule adherence. Maintains tools, materials, and equipment in clean, safe, and operational condition.

Education Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.

Work Experience

2-4 years of experience in concrete finishing or a related field required.

Certifications and Licenses

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Construction certification preferred. OSHA 10 program completion within 6 months of hire is required.
