Rush Truck Centers in Chicago is seeking a Union Diesel Mechanic apprentice to work under a Leadman or Journeyman Mechanic. The apprentice will perform Journeyman-level tasks with the goal of becoming a qualified Journeyman Mechanic through continued training and hands-on experience.

Responsibilities include general maintenance, minor repairs, assisting senior mechanics, inspecting safety devices, and handling additional tasks as directed by supervisors.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of trade school preferred.
• 1+ year mechanical experience required.
• Continuing training appropriate for apprenticeship level.

A Union Diesel Mechanic will work under the supervision of a Leadman or Journeyman Mechanic. The apprentice shall be put on work commonly known as Journeyman Mechanic’s work so that at the end of the apprenticeship, the apprentice shall be a qualified Journeyman Mechanic.
