Uniformed Security Officer – Overnights

This role provides an opportunity for individuals with security experience from private, public, government, or military environments to transition into a 3M career. The officer will monitor, operate, and interpret technical tools to detect threats and risks to 3M’s personnel, assets, and reputation globally, manage incidents and emergency situations, and provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, interpret, and interact with multiple technical tools to detect threats and risks globally.
• Manage incidents and emergency situations, including the execution of procedures, coordination of resources, and on‑scene response.
• Monitor and evaluate global geopolitical issues that could affect business operations or the security of personnel and assets.
• Assist in maintaining, populating, and evaluating intelligence databases and sources.
• Conduct regular monitoring of online open source intelligence, social media platforms, the dark web, and vendor tools for known and potential threats and emerging incidents.
• Provide professional and effective customer service to global internal and external customers.
• Perform campus and building security patrols.
• Complete incident and activity reports in a clear and concise manner.
• Complete training for basic First Aid/CPR and AED.
• Provide escorts to employees and visitors, as necessary.
• Carry out all job duties in compliance with corporate policies and departmental procedures and standards.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
• Two (2) years of experience in a security‑related role in a private, public, or military environment.
• Current, valid driver’s license.

Work Conditions

• On‑site at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN, at least four days a week.
• Shift schedule: rotating 12‑hour night shifts (6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday one week; Wednesday and Thursday the next week).
• Travel: Up to 5% domestic.
• Relocation assistance: Not authorized.
• Legal authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.

Salary: Expected compensation range $53,592 – $65,501 (base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible).
