This executive will oversee faculty practice and acute and critical care inpatient operations, finance, administration, and strategic initiatives across a complex, multi-site academic enterprise, advancing the department's clinical, research, and educational missions.

About the Department

The Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology at Montefiore Einstein is a nationally recognized academic neurology program dedicated to advancing patient care, research, and medical education. The department is home to leading clinical and research programs spanning stroke, epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and other complex and interdisciplinary neurological conditions. Through close integration with Montefiore Health System and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the department brings together leading clinicians, researchers, and educators in a collaborative environment focused on improving outcomes for patients with neurological disease while advancing the next generation of discoveries and therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Operations & Faculty Practice: Provide strategic and operational leadership across the department’s complex clinical enterprise, especially on acute inpatient and critical care services supporting high-acuity and time-sensitive neurological conditions. Optimize clinical operations across the continuum of care, partnering with physician and operational leaders to strengthen coordination, access, quality, and patient experience. Support the growth and evolution of clinical programs through effective resource management, performance improvement, and operational innovation.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop administrative and operational staff. Foster accountability, collaboration, and organizational growth while building leadership capacity across the department.
  • Academic & Research Partnership: Collaborate with academic, research, and institutional leaders to support the Department's clinical, educational, and research missions. Facilitate alignment across departmental and enterprise priorities.
  • Executive Partnership & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary administrative partner to the Chair of Neurology. Build strong relationships across faculty, operational, and executive leadership to advance departmental goals and resolve complex challenges.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Oversee departmental budgeting, financial planning, and performance management. Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements. Promote a culture of operational excellence, service, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible healthcare administration experience required. Prior leadership experience within an academic medical center, faculty practice organization, physician enterprise, or integrated health system strongly preferred. Experience overseeing complex clinical operations, financial management, strategic planning, and organizational development initiatives. Demonstrated success partnering with physicians, department chairs, or senior clinical leaders. Neurology experience preferred; experience within similarly complex academic specialties will also be considered.

  • Exceptional operational leadership and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-site operations and competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong organizational awareness, professionalism, and executive presence.
