Job summary

Lockton is seeking an experienced underwriter support professional in the United States. The role focuses on reviewing new and renewal applications, assessing risk eligibility, and providing pricing guidance to ensure competitive quotes.

You will work with internal and external customers to gather insurance information, support underwriting activities, and prepare files for underwriter approval. Strong math and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in commercial Property and Casualty insurance.
• Rating and underwriting experience.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement in accordance with regulatory and carrier requirements for moderately complex items.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Follow established procedures for reviewing new and renewal applications, assessing risk eligibility, and providing competitive pricing guidance.
• Communicate with internal and external customers to gather and analyze insurance information, supporting underwriting activities such as quoting, binding, issuing, and endorsing policies.
• Ensure compliance with referral criteria outside of underwriting authority.
• Prepare files for underwriter approval outside of authority by performing preliminary review and evaluation of the risk.
• Rating and preparation of new quotes as directed by Underwriter.
• Document and communicate policy approvals or rejections to the underwriting team and customers in a timely manner.
• Review and process transactional items for individual risks.
• Perform other work-related duties and projects assigned.
