Job summary

Transamerica Corporation in Baltimore seeks a senior underwriting auditor to act as SME for underwriting risk audits and coordinate external audits, market conduct exams, and MIB reviews. You will help ensure internal controls align with Sarbanes-Oxley and company policies, while leading data collection and audit guidance.

Qualifications

  • Ten years of underwriting experience with mortality and morbidity-based products.
  • Four years of directly related auditing experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of underwriting practices and industry standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and data interpretation for quality reviews.
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform forensic review audits of underwriting work and guide team members.
  • Lead data collection for audits and provide recommendations on contestable claims.
  • Trend and report mortality and morbidity experience for specified markets.
  • Lead team meetings and special projects; provide training for new staff.

Lead the participation in market conduct exams, reinsurance audits, and Medical Information Bureau (MIB) audits. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs.
