Job summary

Starr Insurance Companies in Chicago seeks an Underwriting Assistant to support property underwriting, manage submissions and renewals, and assist with risk analysis. You will input data, prepare endorsements, and work with Starr Tech software like Sparc and Salesforce to support underwriters and brokers.

We value 1–2 years of related underwriting experience, strong Excel/Word skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment to help deliver timely, accurate coverage for clients.

Qualifications

• 1 - 2 years of related Property underwriting assistance experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize.
• Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Entering new submissions and updating the Submission register.
• Assisting underwriters in renewal preparation.
• Assisting Underwriters in attaining D&B reports, preparing catastrophe analysis.
• Perform risk analysis by inputting data into risk decisioner in the proper format.
• Prepare policies and endorsements for underwriter review as well as process the endorsement in Starr Tech software programs such as Sparc and Salesforce.
• Assist with internal audit process, following up with brokers on needed information.
• Maintain reports as required by Underwriters Premium entry and reconciliation.
• Perform all other duties as directed by area management.
