Job summary

Swiss Re CorSo - Lawyers US is seeking an Underwriter for the Lawyers Professional Liability (LPL) team. You will evaluate, price, and manage a diverse law firm risk portfolio, working alongside brokers, claims, actuaries, and underwriting colleagues to drive profitable growth.

You will collaborate across Claims, Products, Actuarial, and Legal teams, contributing to portfolio strategy and market-leading underwriting solutions.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of insurance underwriting experience.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite LPL risks within assigned authority with precision.
• Establish pricing, terms, limits and retentions for profitability.
• Manage a portfolio of new and renewal business.
• Maintain compliance with underwriting guidelines and document decisions.
• Develop broker/agency relationships and deliver timely underwriting decisions.
• Engage in broker meetings and marketing activities to grow business.
• Contribute to portfolio management and retention improvements.
• Collaborate with Claims, Products, Actuarial, and Legal teams.
• Discuss industry trends and evolving risk landscapes with stakeholders.
• Support process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
