Job summary

Movement Mortgage is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter III in Phoenix to act as an upfront gatekeeper, making critical credit decisions, and driving efficiency by removing obstacles in the process. The role requires deep underwriting expertise, especially with agency loans, and a focus on customer service throughout the loan lifecycle.

You will collaborate with Loan Processors and post-closing teams, leveraging DE/SAR certifications when available, and applying guidelines to ensure timely

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Business Management or related field
• Front end, retail purchase mortgage experience required
• 3+ years of front-end underwriting experience required
• Direct Endorsement (DE) and/or Staff Appraisal Reviewer (SAR) certifications strongly preferred
• USDA and/or Bond loan experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Leads the way with an upfront review and makes the initial credit decision based on company checklists and guidelines
• Reviews everything and issues the final approval after all items are gathered by the Loan Processor and keeps the Loan Origination System up to date
• Methodical and analytical personality with the ability to underwrite agency loans using our unique, upfront method
• Expertise in reviewing self-employed loan applicants for income analysis for all agency loan types
• Delivers great customer service throughout the loan process
• Works with the post-closing team on any stipulations for closed files to push them over the finish line

The expected salary range for this position is between

$93,200.00 - $125,500.00

The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
