Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to contribute to the success of our Sensing and Communications Department in Connecticut. Ideal candidates will have an MS or PhD and a background in subsea technology, acoustics, electronics design, sonar signal processing, autonomous systems, software, and an understanding of Navy technologies and operations are desirable.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics or related fields.
• Experience collaborating with senior technical staff to develop innovative technology solutions.
• Ability to contribute to and lead complex technical tasks at a detailed level.
• Excellent communication with project managers and customers.
• Experience with acoustic communication systems and circuit design fundamentals.
• Strong physics and mathematics grounding.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of complex undersea acoustic systems.
• Support development and execution of programs related to innovative maritime systems.
• Support cross-functional teams to address design challenges and meet requirements.
• Support the design and execution of at-sea experiments.
