Job summary

SeaLandAire Technologies in Jackson, Michigan is seeking an experienced Undersea Acoustic R&D Engineer to join a team of subject matter experts. You will contribute to designing, testing, and characterizing underwater transducers for sensor systems and data collection in challenging environments.

The role requires collaboration across mechanical, electrical, and CAD groups, proposal writing, and data-driven performance evaluation.

Qualifications

• PhD preferred in a relevant field, or a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with experience.

Responsibilities

• Interface with project teams and customers to define requirements and verify acoustic performance.
• Collaborate to design and develop acoustic transducers to meet specs.
• Write proposals, estimate labor, and provide cost estimates for new work.
• Design and execute tests to characterize transducer performance.
• Analyze test data and summarize system performance.
• Contribute to written test and status reports; provide lab instruction and testing.
• Coordinate with System, Mechanical, Electrical Engineers and CAD groups.
