Job summary

Moss Utilities in the Dallas‑Fort Worth area is seeking a Pipe Layer to install sanitary and stormwater sewer systems, align and connect pipe structures, and follow project specifications. Accurate pipe layout and safety adherence are essential.

You will read blueprints, cut and fit pipes, grade trenches, and train crew members in proper techniques. Moss Utilities offers ESOP ownership, competitive pay, onsite amenities, and clear growth paths for long‑term development.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and follow building plans, blueprints, and supervisory instructions; lay out work accurately; and perform tasks efficiently using the appropriate tools and materials.
  • Must be physically capable of performing manual labor in various environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (over 50 lbs.).
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions with consistency and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal competencies, including drive for results, timely follow-through, effective verbal communication, organization, planning, dependability, trust, respect, and cooperation.

Responsibilities

  • Install sanitary and stormwater sewer structures and pipe systems.
  • Cut pipes to specified lengths according to project requirements.
  • Assist with aligning pipes during pipeline construction.
  • Align and position pipes for welding or sealing.
  • Verify slopes and grades using levels, lasers, or other measuring equipment.
  • Connect pipe sections and seal joints using welding equipment, cement, or approved adhesives.
  • Tap and drill holes in pipes to install auxiliary lines or devices.
  • Cover pipes with soil or other approved materials.
  • Grade and level trench bases using tamping machines and hand tools.
  • Train crew members in proper pipe‑laying techniques.
  • Perform other general labor and construction‑related duties as required.

Pipe layer
Position Overview

The Pipe layer is responsible for installing sanitary and stormwater sewer systems by accurately aligning, positioning, and connecting pipe structures according to project specifications.
