Job summary

Summit Utility Services is seeking Locate Technicians to identify and mark underground utilities and ensure safe digging for construction projects. Training is provided, and no prior locating experience is required.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working outdoors, with a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally. You will join a team dedicated to accuracy and safety in every job site.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and customer service abilities.
Willingness to travel locally and work overtime or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Use company-provided tools and equipment to identify and mark the location of underground utility lines (fiber, gas, electric, telecom).
Read and interpret utility maps and diagrams to determine buried services’ locations.
Accurately document work and complete reports using laptops, tablets, or handheld devices.
Communicate effectively with contractors, homeowners, and other utility personnel.
Ensure safety standards and company procedures are followed at all times.
Work independently outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Maintain company-issued equipment and vehicle in good condition.
