Job summary

Summit Utility Services is seeking detail-oriented Locate Technicians in Huron, South Dakota, to identify and mark underground utilities using specialized equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail and effective communication.

Although no prior experience is necessary, candidates should have a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license. Comprehensive paid training will be provided to ensure preparedness for the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and customer service abilities.
• Comfortable working outdoors and on foot for extended periods.
• Ability to follow procedures and safety protocols.
• Willingness to travel locally and work occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Use company tools to mark underground utility lines.
• Read and interpret utility maps and diagrams.
• Accurately document work performed and complete reports.
• Communicate effectively with contractors and homeowners.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
• Work independently outdoors under various weather conditions.
• Maintain company equipment and vehicle in good condition.
