Overview

Vannguard Utility Partners Inc. is hiring Underground Utility Locators to work outdoors across multiple locations. The position offers competitive wages of $22.75 per hour with a range of health and retirement benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Drive a company vehicle to job sites for routine tickets, emergencies, and relocations.
• Use mapping tools, locating equipment, and utility data to identify underground utilities, including electric, gas, telephone, and other communication lines.
• Mark utility locations with paint or flags and provide relevant information to excavation crews and authorities.
• Respond to after‑hour emergency call‑outs according to the established rotation schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license in the state of employment
• Computer skills and ability to use mapping software
• Experience with utility locating (1 year preferred)
• Ability to work overtime and respond to emergencies
• Self‑management and clear communication with supervisors and clients
• Participation in Vannguard's drug‑free workplace program and pre‑employment drug screening

Physical Demands

• Drive 50 to 300+ miles daily as required by geographic area.
• Get in and out of a vehicle 50+ times a day.
• Stand and walk long distances (1+ mile) over uneven terrain in all weather conditions.
• Sit for extended periods while driving.
• Lift or move 50 to 150 pounds.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Work Location

Multiple locations across the region.

Job Type and Schedule

Full‑time, 10‑hour shifts Monday to Friday, on‑call duties, and overtime as needed.
