Job summary

MaziCTools is seeking an Underground Equipment Operator to join our construction team in the USA. You will operate heavy equipment such as HDDs, propelled plows, and bore machines, ensuring safe, efficient installation and maintenance of underground utilities including fiber optics.

A minimum of 5 years of field experience and a Class A CDL are preferred. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, coordinating with the crew, and complying with OSHA/MSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience operating heavy equipment in construction, specifically HDD, propelled plows and bore machines.
• Class A CDL or ability to obtain within a specified time frame.
• Proven experience with fiber optics installation and understanding of underground utilities.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Excellent physical condition and endurance for strenuous activities under varying weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
• High precision and attention to detail in potentially hazardous environments.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work in a team.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal directional drill, propelled plow, bore machine, and other heavy equipment safely.
• Install, repair and maintain underground utilities, including fiber optics, per safety regulations.
• Interpret blueprints, maps and diagrams to locate utilities.
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment and report defects.
• Coordinate with crew to ensure efficient project completion and communicate issues.
• Adhere to OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or project manager.
