Job summary

JDH Infrastructure Group is seeking a Pipe Layer to install underground utilities on construction sites in New York. You will work under the Pipe Foreman to ensure accurate alignment, grade, and jointing, following drawings and specs.

Role involves trenching, pipe fitting, and coordination with operators and laborers to meet project milestones. Responsibilities include safety-focused execution, use of lasers/levels for precision, and timely completion of utility installations for stormwater,

Qualifications

• Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Manual dexterity with hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Construction experience is beneficial in this role.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
• Able to identify and solve issues during pipe installation.
• Effective communication with supervisors and crew members.
• Team-oriented with reliable work habits.

Responsibilities

• Ground and trench preparation for pipe installations per plan specifications.
• Lay and align various pipe types (PVC, RCP, HDPE, DIP, D.I.).
• Assist with joining and securing pipe using gaskets, fittings, or welding.
• Operate or assist with trench boxes, compactors, and equipment as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow PPE requirements.
• Check for leaks or misalignment and correct as needed.
