Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. seeks an underground foreman in Tampa, FL with 4–8 years of underground experience in open trench. You will lead a 4-person crew, coordinate with the construction manager for in-field setup, and ensure safety and compliance on site.

Responsibilities include reading plans, maintaining equipment, and implementing corrective actions for hazards. A valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of underground excavation and shoring experience.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card within 30 days.
• OSHA certification a plus.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other

This position is for an underground foreman with a minimum of 4-8 years of underground experience in open trench.

• Work with construction manager for in-field project set up
• Lead and direct 4-man crew to safely complete projects.
• Select and implement appropriate maintenance of traffic signage and follow safety precautions.
• Identify potential safety hazards. Create a corrective action plan when safety hazards are recognized.
• Administer monthly safety meetings.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Understand as-built drawings, roadway plans, and create legible field sketches.
• Possess leadership and mentoring skills.
• Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance tasks.
• Must have a mechanical aptitude.
• Experience placing underground cable a plus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Candidate Qualifications

• Know Miss Utility Law.
• Minimum 4 years of underground excavation and shoring experience.
• Operate and maintain mini excavators.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical card for Commercial Motor Vehicle operation within 30 days. Having a current Commercial Driver's License is a plus.
• OSHA certification a plus
