Job summary

Ivanhoe Electric in Arizona seeks an Underground Construction Coordinator to oversee underground development and TBM-related activities for a copper mining project. You will coordinate crews, equipment, ventilation, utilities, and ground support, ensuring safety and alignment with mine plans.

The role requires 5–10 years in underground mining or tunneling, MSHA knowledge, and strong leadership and communication skills to support project milestones and commissioning.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in underground mining, heavy civil tunneling, or underground construction.
  • Experience supporting TBM operations and underground development preferred.
  • Experience in underground copper mining or large-scale infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of underground construction methods and ground support systems.
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations and underground mining safety practices.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and work across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily underground construction and development activities to support project execution.
  • Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and adherence to safety standards and schedules.
  • Support tunnel boring and underground excavation activities, including crews, ventilation, utilities, and material movement.
  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure alignment with mine plans and approved designs.
  • Coordinate installation of underground infrastructure including ventilation, dewatering, piping, electrical, and ground support.
  • Plan sequencing to minimize delays and operational impact.
  • Participate in daily coordination, meetings, and progress reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA regulations and environmental requirements.
  • Identify and resolve construction and scheduling issues promptly.
  • Monitor underground conditions and support safe ground control practices.
