Job summary

Illinois State University is looking for an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment. The assistant will attend lectures, maintain student records, and assist with grading and teaching small groups. Candidates should have completed the relevant class to be considered.

The pay rate is $15.00/hour with hours determined by the faculty member. A background check will be conducted as part of the hiring process.

Job Summary

This is a student position for the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment, located in Felmley Hall.

  • Attending each lecture.
  • Taking attendance.
  • Maintaining student records.
  • Familiarity with the class material.
  • Holding office hours and student review sessions.
  • Teaching small groups or individuals who need additional help or guidance.
  • Proctoring exams.
  • Grading tests, papers, and assignments.
  • Recording and maintaining grades.
  • Lecturing or making presentations.
  • Leading class discussion or break-out groups.
  • Supervising group activities.

Students currently taking the class are not eligible for this position.

Pay Rate

Work Hours
