Job summary

The Vollum Institute at Oregon Health & Science University is seeking a motivated undergraduate student to assist with data collection and analysis in a basic science research setting. You will conduct data entry, literature reviews, and summarize findings for the supervisor and team.

You will gain exposure to animal handling, fluorescence microscopy, and routine lab support tasks in a zebrafish research facility, while developing strong organizational and collaborative skills in a busy lab

Qualifications

Enrolled in an undergraduate program (minimum 6 credit hours).
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to gather, compile, analyze and maintain data in a range of formats.

Responsibilities

Collecting and analyzing data.
Data entry and validation.
Literature reviews.
Summarizing and presenting findings to supervisor and other study personnel.
Animal handling and husbandry, fluorescence microscopy, library research, data collection and analysis.
Cleaning/sterilizing lab instruments and surfaces.
Stocking lab with supplies.
May perform any routine duties as directed and under the supervision of other study personnel.
