Carnegie Mellon University’s Biological Sciences department is seeking a Research Assistant to support undergraduate labs by preparing chemical solutions and aliquoting materials, while managing inventory and equipment. You will work closely with instructors, teaching assistants and students to ensure smooth lab operations and hands-on learning experiences in a structured environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in research, data collection, analysis and record management are highly preferred.
• A combination of education and proven experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for making solutions and prep materials for lab classes.
• Maintains stock lab supplies in the UG labs in both MI and DH.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and glassware.
• Performs specific lab duties as required by the lab classes.
• Prepares solutions and aliquots materials for lab classes.
• Ability to work with Instructors, staff TAs and students.
