Undergrad Co-op – MCS Manufacturing Associate

What You Will Do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this undergraduate cooperative, you will work as a Manufacturing Associate in the Durg Substance (DS)/Drug Product (DP) Technical Operations within the Manufacturing Clinical Supply Organization. This team is responsible for supplying Amgen’s portfolio of clinical trials currently underway, globally. The co-op will be responsible for an improvement project and exposed to a dynamic clinical manufacturing environment. Project may include:

• Working closely across multiple subject areas, including Process Development, Facilities & Engineering, and Manufacturing to execute a diverse portfolio of projects
• Execute problem solving, root cause analysis and data visualization
• Leveraging standard Continuous Improvement principles to devise new solutions
• Identifying opportunities to optimize workflows and protocols to increase throughput in the manufacturing process
• Evaluate procedural improvement opportunities
• Conduct production floor testing, including coordination amongst multiple teams and disciplines

Program Eligibility Requirements

• Expected completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
• Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program
• Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program
• Must be available to work a part-time schedule

Basic Qualifications:

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co‑op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

• 18 years or older
• Currently enrolled in a full‑time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree concentration(s) in Engineering or Life Sciences
• Previous experience in biology lab
• Prior work or volunteering experience
• Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, Tableau)
• Good communication skills and writing skills
• Analytical thinking
• Proactiveness
• Project Management Experience

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $28.87 per hour.
