Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Detention Facility Security Officer in Columbia, SC to provide security services, customer service, and routine patrols in a professional environment. You will deter incidents, respond to security concerns, perform badge verification, access control, and clear communication while upholding our culture of integrity and teamwork.

The role emphasizes visibility, prompt incident reporting, and collaboration with clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of security-related experience.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Background check required in accordance with laws.
Drug screen required where permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout assigned areas and around the perimeter.
Observe and report unusual conditions, hazards, and security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
