Job summary

Allied Universal® is seeking a Security Officer for a full-time unarmed patrol position in Sterling, VA. You will safeguard clients, conduct patrols, monitor access points, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents at a technology, media, and telecommunications site.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, business areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required by site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and reports.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events according to site procedures.
• Support a professional environment by communicating clearly with site contacts and following Allied Universal and client-specific post orders.
