Job summary

Allied Universal in Summit, NJ is seeking a Security Officer (Full Time) to safeguard clients across Commercial Real Estate and other sectors. You will perform unarmed patrols, provide courteous customer service, monitor entrances, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while upholding site policies and emergency procedures.

This role emphasizes reliability, strong communication, and teamwork within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• CPR certification preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial real estate facilities, including interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and security-related incidents according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency responders when needed.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation while helping to deter unauthorized access and other unwanted activity.]
