Job summary

Prosegur in Detroit is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer for full-time, first and second shifts. You will monitor entrances, control access, and help protect people and property on site.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, solid communication skills, reliable transportation, and the ability to stand for long periods. You will perform patrols, document incidents, and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor entrance/exit of employees and visitors to maintain security.
• Supervise inspection/tracking of inbound/outbound trucks with proper documentation.
• Manage traffic flow and regulate trucks/vehicles on site.
• Maintain a visible presence to enforce order and protect property.
• Conduct patrols and surveillance to prevent hazards or infractions.
• Enforce rules, respond to emergencies, and provide security assistance.
• Provide foot or vehicle escorts as needed and accompany individuals off property.
• Monitor for irregular activity and address identified risks.
• Ensure facility and designated areas remain secure.
• Enforce company policies consistently and conduct investigations.
• Prepare comprehensive incident reports when required.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and monitor the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other individuals to maintain the security and safety of the premises.
• Supervise the inspection and tracking of inbound and outbound trucks, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient shipment handling.
• Manage traffic flow and ensure proper regulation of trucks and vehicles.
• Maintain a visible presence among visitors, patrons, and employees to enforce order and protect property.
• Conduct regular patrols and surveillance of industrial or commercial premises to prevent safety hazards, theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
• Enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, promptly responding to emergency situations and providing security assistance as required.
• Provide foot or motor vehicle escort services to transport individuals to specified locations, offer personal protection, or accompany individuals off customer property..
• Monitor for irregular or unusual activity, implementing appropriate measures to address any identified risks.
• Ensure the security of the facility and designated areas.
• Enforce facility and company policies and procedures consistently.
• Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and prepare comprehensive reports.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a security officer role.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficient computer skills are required..
• Must possess reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written..
• Ability to make clear decisions during crisis or high-stress periods.
• May be exposed to high levels of noise or variations in weather and temperature.
• Must be reliable, demonstrate a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior.
• Must have at least 1 year of Security Exp.
• Must work well with the public.
• Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods up to 10 hrs.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires significant physical activity throughout the shift. Officers must be able to:

Walk and stand for extended periods (including completing multiple rounds and patrols of up to 1–2 miles per shift)

Frequently climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as required by site patrol routes

Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Maintain alertness and situational awareness during all patrols

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
