Job summary

A & Associates is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for clients, employees, and visitors in Urbana, Illinois. The role emphasizes vigilance, loss prevention, and effective conflict management while complying with state licensing requirements.

The ideal candidate will monitor access, respond to alarms, and document incidents while collaborating with local authorities as needed. Availability on short notice and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must possess strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Open Availability (Note that open availability is not meaning Flex, they will have set days TBD)
• Guard Shack experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises.
• Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, providing first aid or CPR as necessary.
• Enforce rules and regulations while maintaining a professional demeanor in conflict situations.
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities during shifts.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Assist in loss prevention strategies by identifying potential security risks.
