Job summary

TriCorps in Arlington, Virginia is seeking a professional Unarmed Security Officer to protect students, staff and visitors in a school environment. The role requires vigilance, professionalism and strong communication.

Candidates must hold a current DCJS Unarmed Security License and a High School Diploma or equivalent. This is a part-time, 2nd/3rd shift position with weekend hours and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation and sick days.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current DCJS Unarmed Security License.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience in a school environment is a plus; former law enforcement or military considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to school grounds, entrances, and buildings to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Provide a professional and reassuring presence while interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
• Conduct patrols of campus facilities and outdoor areas to deter and detect potential safety or security concerns.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or requests for assistance and follow established protocols.
• Communicate clearly with school staff, law enforcement, and TriCorps management regarding safety issues or incidents.
• Prepare accurate and detailed reports documenting daily activity, observations, and incidents.
• Support emergency procedures and assist during drills or crisis situations as directed.
