Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston, TX is seeking a Security Guard Full Time Patrol Access Control to safeguard clients in Chemical/Petrochemical environments and other sites. You will monitor access, deter incidents, and provide professional customer service.

This role requires teamwork, reliability, and strict adherence to site procedures, with a schedule including evening and weekend shifts. A background check and drug screen are required, and applicants must meet minimum age and HS diploma

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established chemical and petrochemical facility protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, perimeter, access points, parking areas, and operational zones to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and report access concerns according to site procedures.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and observations in required reports and promptly communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
