Job summary

Allied Universal in Glendale, CA is seeking a part-time Security Officer Enhanced to provide reliable, customer-focused security services at a retail site. You will perform unarmed patrols, monitor access points, and enforce site policies while maintaining a welcoming environment.

This role offers flexible hours, anchor shifts, and opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform, with up to 40 hours weekly when needed.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and store personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, sales floor, stock areas, entrances, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and support a welcoming environment.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Monitor access points and report security-related observations, hazards, or policy concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining awareness of retail activity and following site-specific reporting procedures.
