Job summary

Excellus BCBS is seeking a detail-oriented UM Support role to assist with authorizations, member/provider communications, and regulatory compliance. The position emphasizes accurate data handling, timely responses, and collaboration across departments.

You will support multiple UM workflows in a call center environment and may assist with training and mentorship for colleagues. The role requires a high school diploma, solid MS Office skills, and strong analytical abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience using a desktop computer in a professional setting; MS Office preferred.
• Call center experience preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication; capable of teamwork.
• Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound calls with members and providers.
• Create authorizations via phone, Care Advance Provider Tool, and fax.
• Coordinate with providers and members regarding DOH/NCQA regulatory requirements.
• Respond to research inquiries accurately within regulatory timeframes.
• Support UM services workflows and assist with Tiered responsibilities.
• Assist with training, coaching, and mentoring UM reps.
