Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Sonography Ultrasound Technician to perform ultrasound scans and support radiologists in the diagnosis of injuries and diseases across patient ages.

The role requires an Associate Degree in medical imaging or health-related field, ARDMS registration, and BLS certification before 90 days. The position involves varied hours, on-site work, and adherence to safety and QA protocols.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in medical imaging or health-related field.
• ARDMS registration or registry eligible; no restrictions prohibiting work as ultrasonographer in MA.
• BLS healthcare provider required before completion of 90 day probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patient clinical information and history; adjust imaging procedures for patient size/age/condition.
• Assist, transfer, and position patients; select appropriate scan parameters.
• Process and record scanned images per radiologist protocol and document in HIS/RIS/PACS.
• Ensure QA, maintain equipment cleanliness, and restock supplies to prevent cross-contamination.
• Stay current with ultrasonography advances through inservice study or seminars.
• Maintain competency in Trophon disinfection processes.
• Assist in other areas/modalities as needed.
