Job summary

Holland Hospital seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to join its Radiology team. You will obtain orders, perform ultrasound examinations, process images, and discharge patients while ensuring comfort and safety across age groups.

You will collaborate with the Radiologist to review studies and support accurate diagnoses. This Part Time role supports a 3:30pm–11:30pm shift (Mon-Tue, every other Fri) with 20 hours weekly and a 10th-weekend call, and a wage range of $29.74–$44.61 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher education required.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (R-RT) certification.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (R-RMDS) certification.
• BLS/CPR through the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound imaging and reviews orders for diagnostic accuracy.
• Positions patient, selects transducer, and operates ultrasound equipment.
• Reviews images with Radiologist and documents findings in HIS.
• Maintains equipment and performs quality control; notifies for repairs.

The Ultrasound Technologist works under the supervision of the Radiology Manager: Obtains and reviews ultrasound orders; performs ultrasound examinations; processes ultrasound images; discharges patients; notifies Radiology Manager of equipment maintenance; remains current in ultrasound techniques; and performs other duties as assigned. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and service appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her area.

Employment Type: Part Time

Shift: 3:30pm-11:30pm (Mon-Tue, every other Fri)

Weekend Requirements: Everyth 10th weekend (6:30am-6:30pm)

Call every 10th weekend (6:30pm-6:30am)

Weekly Scheduled Hours: 20

Wage Range: $29.74-$44.61 per hour

Requirements

• Associates Degree or higher education

• Performs Ultrasound Imaging Reviews order requisitions for diagnosis and examination requested. Arranges daily work schedule to accommodate inpatient requests. Selects appropriate transducer and sets up ultrasound equipment according to examination requested. Explains examination to the patient and reviews patient chart as needed. Positions patient for the examination and performs the ultrasound examination according to established imaging procedures. Establishes and maintains good communications with patients and provides for patient comfort before, during and after the examination. Reviews images for correct patient positioning, ultrasound technique, patient identification and appropriate anatomical markers. Reviews images and patient history with the Radiologist. Performs Record Documentation Records a pertinent patient history or other unusual patient conditions. Completes the biophysical, gynecology, abdominal, obstetrical, or miscellaneous worksheet as appropriate. Documents billing and required information in the HIS system.
• Performs Interventional Ultrasound Imaging Provides ultrasound guidance during invasive procedures. Follows universal precautions policy and procedures. Sets-up sterile supplies for invasive procedures. Assists physicians with invasive procedures.
• Demonstrates Technical Competency Remains current by reading journals, attending in-services, staff meetings, outside meetings, and seminars as needed. Notifies Equipment Vendor for Repair Recognizes signs of equipment malfunctions and arranges for equipment repair. Notifies Radiology Manager of equipment maintenance.
• Performs Related Duties Cleans ultrasound equipment and accessories. Request supplies from hospital Stock Room or from Radiology Manager. Performs equipment quality control and maintains records. Performs other duties as assigned.
