Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist for the Maternal Fetal Medicine department in Vero Beach. The role involves providing imaging coverage based on patient volume, staffing gaps, PTO and call-offs, and may develop leadership skills over time.

The position requires an accredited Sonography program graduate, ARRT/ARDMS certification (or eligibility within 18 months), BLS, and knowledge of relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Sonography program.
• Registered through ARRT or ARDMS, or board eligible ARDMS within 18 months of hire.
• BLS certification through AHA or the American Red Cross.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine imaging, emergent and invasive procedures to detect pathology.
• Safely operate equipment and maintain standards while performing procedures.
• Provide copies of imaging studies and document results in patient charts.
• Send all relevant electronic data to its appropriate destination.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, contacting service when necessary.
• Coordinate and answer questions regarding scheduling, patient information, networking and informatics.
• Maintain adequate supplies in the work area.
• Orient new caregivers and assist in their transition to the work environment.
• Attend and participate in monthly department meetings.

Education

Registered through ARRT or ARDMS, or board eligible ARDMS within 18 months of hire

Location: Vero Beach – Indian River Hospital – Ancillary Piwh-Indian River Hospital – Shift: Days 7:30AM–4:30PM (PRN).

Job Summary

Join the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital team and work with state‑of‑the‑art ultrasound technology in the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) department. As a PRN Ultrasound Technologist, you will provide imaging coverage based on patient volume, staffing gaps, PTO and call‑offs, and may advance your skills toward leadership roles.

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or the American Red Cross.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a sonographer in an acute‑care imaging setting.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, sitting and standing; use of phone, computer and fax machines.
• Pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling and crouching as needed.
• Work may exceed eight (8) hours per day based on demand.

• Problem‑solve, make decisions, exercise self‑control and tolerate stress from conflicting demands.
• Self‑starting and self‑motivated; minimal sustained direction needed.

Confidentiality

Limited access to medical records for verifying orders and signing off upon exam completion; disclosures limited to the purpose of ensuring correct exams and the required documentation for each patient.
