Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an Ultrasound Tech to perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction across Front Range facilities. The role requires ARDMS certification and BCLS, with a flexible PRN schedule and a 10% float pool premium plus shift differentials.

The Ultrasound Tech will maintain competencies, ensure patient safety, and support education for students and other staff while delivering high-quality imaging services across multiple campuses in Wheat Ridge, CO.

Qualifications

• ARDMS registry completed beyond physics in a department-specific area (options include OB, abdomen, neuro, breast, pediatric, or vascular).
• BCLS - Basic life support (Healthcare Providers) certification is required.
• One or more years of ultrasound experience is preferred for more advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Identifies patients and verifies orders prior to exams.
• Performs ultrasound exams per protocol and reviews images for quality.
• Completes studies within time guidelines while maintaining patient care.
• Assists and mentors students and other sonographers on exam protocols and positioning.
• Provides patient education and ensures comfort; addresses concerns.
• Maintains infection control and sterile techniques; adheres to safety standards.
• Operates ultrasound equipment and associated information systems; documents procedures and adverse reactions.
• Follows medical necessity protocols, coding, charging, and QC programs.
