Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an approved sonography program is required.
• Certification in Sonography (ARRT or ARDMS) or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Read provider orders to understand imaging requirements.
• Prepare patients and position them for ultrasound procedures.
• Operate ultrasound equipment and adjust settings for quality images.
• Apply gel and use transducers to image organs, tissues or blood flow.
• Document care and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Maintain equipment, stock, and department safety standards.
• Comply with imaging department policies and regulatory requirements.

Education
