Job summary

Advocate Health in Shelby, NC, seeks a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to support radiology services with emphasis on patient-centered care and high-quality ultrasound imaging.

The role requires ARDMS/ARRT(S) certification, a comprehensive ultrasound program background, and BLS certification. You will work closely with Radiologists to perform procedures, document exams, and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S) required.
• Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program preferred.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient.
• Assists Radiologist in performance of invasive procedures.
• Evaluates technical quality of exam and develops a superior varied technique for elevated efficiency in the department.
• Maintains assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion; keeps area stocked.
• Operates the Radiology computer system, entering and charging exams and supplies.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer and/or Engineer.
• Adheres to departmental rules and regulations while performing in a professional manner.
