Job summary

Medix™ in United States, New York currently seeks a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-volume ultrasound examinations and provide patient-centered imaging services.

The role requires ARMDMS certification, proficiency in pelvic, abdominal and transvaginal scans, and strong experience with PACS and RIS systems; breast imaging is not included. Day shift, direct hire, ASAP start.

Qualifications

• RDMS certification required (ARMDMS credential in vascular, OB/GYN, abdomen, or general).
• Proficient pelvic, abdominal, and transvaginal ultrasound imaging.
• Experience navigating PACS and RIS systems.
• Pass an in-person hands-on scanning evaluation with 1–2 patients during the interview.

Responsibilities

• Perform 12-15 high-volume ultrasound scans per shift.
• Image pelvic, abdominal, and transvaginal; breast imaging not included.
• Prepare patients and explain procedures to ensure comfort.
• Collaborate with physicians and radiologists on urgent findings.
• Document measurements and upload images/reports to PACS and RIS.
• Conduct daily QA, equipment checks, and cleaning.

Job description

Compensation: $45-58/hr Depending on Experience

Duration: Direct Hire

Start Date: ASAP

Shift/Schedule: Day Shift, M-F 9am-5pm

Responsibilities

• Perform high-volume diagnostic ultrasound examinations, averaging 12-15 scans per shift.
• Conduct pelvic, abdominal, and transvaginal ultrasound imaging; breast imaging is explicitly excluded.
• Greet, identify, and prepare patients for procedures, explaining steps to ensure comfort and dignity.
• Collaborate directly with physicians and interpreting radiologists when additional images or urgent findings are identified.
• Accurately document patient measurements and examination details, uploading images and reports into PACS and RIS systems.
• Perform daily quality assurance, operational checks, and cleaning of ultrasound equipment.

Required Skills

• ARMDMS Certification: Active credential required (can be in Vascular, OB/GYN, Abdomen, or general RDMS).
• Core Modality Proficiency: Proven clinical competency performing pelvic, abdominal, and transvaginal scans.
• Technical Systems: Hands-on experience navigating PACS and RIS electronic health record systems.
• Live Assessment: Ability to pass an in-person, hands-on clinical scanning evaluation on 1-2 patients during the interview process.

Preferred Skills

• Experience: 2+ years of general diagnostic ultrasound experience.
• Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
