Job summary

Commonwealth Health in Wilkes-Barre is seeking a Diagnostic Sonographer for per diem shifts, including evenings and holidays. You will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations necessary for evaluation and treatment by the attending physician.

The ideal candidate must be a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, possess technical expertise, and have the necessary certifications including BLS and ARRT.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
• Competency in components of sonography practice as appropriate.
• Technical expertise, knowledge of anatomy, and clerical accuracy are essential.

JOB LOCATION - Wilkes-Barre General Hospital - Per Diem (Evenings & Holidays)

Position Purpose

Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician

Position Qualifications

Education:

Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology, either hospital based or college degree program, with advanced training and certification in Ultrasonography, and/or graduate of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.

Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes:

Competency in components of sonography practice as appropriate. Technical expertise, knowledge of anatomy; safety conscious, manual dexterity, clerical accuracy, verbal ability, communication skills.

Licenses/Certificates:

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
• Additional registry as a Vascular Technologist (RVT) required
• BLS required
• This position does require evenings, weekends, and holiday rotations.
