Warren General Hospital is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to perform comprehensive ultrasound examinations across abdomen, pelvis, OB and vascular regions, including echocardiography. You will work with inpatients, outpatients and emergency patients, presenting studies to radiologists for interpretation and assisting with image-guided procedures.
You must graduate from an AMA approved Ultrasound program and be ARDMS registered or eligible in two specialties within one year.
Performs all requested ultrasound examinations (abdomen, pelvis, OB, small parts, vascular, echocardiography) on inpatients, outpatients and emergency patients.
Demonstrates knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Evaluates quality of image. Seeks guidance from radiologist when necessary
Selects proper technique according to individual patient needs and conditions
Presents completed study to radiologist for interpretation and reporting; obtains additional images as directed.
Assists radiologist/physicians in specialized procedures (invasive procedures: aspiration, biopsy, amniocentesis, etc.)
Processes films, prepares “m-mode” tracing, video tape, etc. for interpretation.
Evaluates overall equipment performance
Orders supplies and schedules equipment service as needed
Participates in institutional and departmental in-services and safety programs.
Attends and participates in continuing education programs; maintains required continuing education credits
Assists with orientation of new personnel, students and other staff.
Rotates call with other personnel as required
Performs related duties as required.
High school education or equivalent
Ability to recognize and document various pathological conditions
Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding examination specifics.
Must be a graduate of an AMA approved program for Ultrasound Technology.
Must be registered or eligible for registry in two or more specialties (including OB-GYN, Abdominal, Vascular, and Echocardiography) in Diagnostic Medical Sonography by ARDMS within one year of hire.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of normal and variant anatomy is essential
