The Ultrasound Technologist at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters performs and assists with ultrasound examinations under the direction of a Radiologist to support accurate medical diagnosis.
Evaluates image quality, supports inpatient, ED and outpatient imaging, and collaborates with Sedation and Anesthesia for urgent exams. CPR training is required and travel may be necessary as part of duties.
The Ultrasound Technologist performs and assists with ultrasound examinations and procedures under the direction of a Radiologist or delegating practitioner to produce US exams which are used in medical diagnosis to locate injuries, foreign bodies, pathological conditions or lesions within the body. Works with leadership and radiologists to provide, enhance and maintain high levels for image quality and patient safety. Reports to designated department Supervisor/Manager/Director.
Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
